 KENT: “Everywhere in this remedy, we observe the striking over-sensitiveness of the patient; it is brought out in all the symptoms. Irritable; oversensitive to noise; to light, to the least current of air, to his surroundings; extremely touchy in regard to his food; many kinds of food disturb; strong food disturb; he is aggravated by meat; craves stimulants, pungent, bitter, succulent, things, something to brace him up. Oversensitive to medicines.”
 ”……..Cannot bear reading or conversation; irritable and wishes to be alone. Everybody  displeases or does something to annoy him.”
 ”Tendency to take cold; gets coryza……..Grippe with fever and bones pains; must pile on clothing; the only relief is by keeping unusually hot, yet a warm room aggravates the coryza before the fever comes on; but after the fever comes on he must have heat, aggravated even from the movement of air under the bed-clothes; lifting the covers aggravates the pains, cough, etc.”
 ”Sharp fever and sweat, or a hot sweat like Opium (but Op. in a hot sweat wants the covers off, while Nux cannot raise the covers). Chills and fever; heat and sweat intermingled.”
 ”Tendency to jaundice in all the febrile states.”
 ALLEN: “Violent, long-lasting heat, with great thirst. Great heat; whole body burning hot, yet patient must be covered up.”
 The tongue is heavily coated, white or yellow. Taste is so bitter, sour, putrid, must rinse the mouth (Thu).
 Cause : “Typical cases are apt to occur in men of active, rushing business habits; nervous, dyspeptic from worry, care, too much mental and too little physical exertion. Irregular, unseasonable, rapid eating; too much coffee, tobacco, stimulants; late suppers, late hours of debauches.”
 HERING: “Gastric or bilious fevers in plethoric individuals or in those suffering from portal stasis, occurring in hot weather or in warm, wet days.”
 ”Heat: with internal chilliness; alternating with chilliness; with anxiety and restlessness; dry, over whole body, does not tolerate covering; with red face and aversion to uncover, at night, without thirst.”
 CLINICAL: Gastric fever; rheumatic fever; yellow fever; typhoid (early stage); fevers of every type.
 POTENCY: The 3, 6, 3o and 200 potencies are commonly used.

 Complementary:  Sulp.
 Is often indicated after Ipec. Which it follows well.
 Compatible after: Ars., Ipec., Phos., Sulp., before: Bry., Puls., Sulp.
 Incompatible : Arn., Op., Rhus-t.
